THE RISE OF THE ROBOTS is a middle grade nonfiction that provides a cool look inside the world of robotics. The book covers various topics around robot development and their uses in different fields, such as the ocean, medicine, and space.

What I loved: This is a really engaging nonfiction read that uses approachable language and silly asides to teach a lot about robotics, their development, and their uses. Robots have been in use in many different ways, and they are being developed for even more. From farming to rescue operations, robots are becoming more commonplace, and this book does a great job of presenting how cool they are, what they are used for, and where the field might go in the future.

The book contains a lot of different types of text, so it is not just long paragraphs. There are question and answer sections, call-outs, fun facts, and comics to help break the information into bite-sized pieces and still teach a lot along the way. The organization of the book into specific themes and chapters works well, especially for readers who may just want to read a bit at a time.

The illustrations and use of color are really fantastic throughout. There are many comics and images that help provide some humor and explanations along the way. Some sections are colored in a different way to help divide the text as well and give eyes something else to visually enjoy. This works well for middle grade readers who love science and learning new things!

Final verdict: THE RISE OF THE ROBOTS is an entertaining middle grade nonfiction read that is perfect for curious readers who love science and technology!
