Let the darkness rise…in the breathtaking conclusion to award-winning author Abigail Owen’s Dominions series.

King Eidolon has taken everything.

My throne, my Shadowraith, and even my kingdom. I am a queen with no one to rule, and a tattered army that's not even mine. And hope is fading fast.

Now the shadows who once tormented Reven live within me, hissing and wheedling―and enticing me to betray my friends. Which could be deadly for us all. Because without the guy I fell for, without Reven, I am all shadows…and no light.

And the Alignment is almost upon us―the culmination of centuries that have fueled a vengeful king’s festering rage.

We’re outnumbered. We’re underpowered. And even if we could unleash the trapped goddesses, they would destroy the kingdom and everything in it.

The Dominions series is best enjoyed in order.

The Shadows Rule All is the dramatic conclusion to the Dominions trilogy. In the beginning, Meren barely fights to control the shadows Reven gives her before his capture by Eidolon and her despair of losing her bondmate. From Reven’s perspective, he delves into Eidolon’s past so that the audience can see the origins of how the goddesses were locked into amulets and the source of his revenge. I wish the entire book maintained a dual POV.
When the rebels free Reven he has lost all his memory and his bond connection to Meren seems severed. This allows them to go through the enemies-to-lovers trope over again capturing all the angst that comes from a love lost. It definitely will bring tears to your eyes since we know how intensely Meren feels about him and he feels nothing.
The goals Meren and her friends need to meet to defeat Eidolon are set up well in the other books. Many things need to happen for the showdown so it is an action-packed sequence of events. Meren has a large group of friends and allies along the way and it is surprising who dies.
Overall, this has been an engrossing series that is now complete. Meren and Reven’s love has been well-developed and explored. The established conflict leads the characters on an epic journey and page-turning suspense. I listened as an audiobook and was riveted all the way through.
