THE STORY OF INVENTIONS is a simple, accessible introduction to some of the breakthroughs that have shaped the world across centuries. The information is presented through minimal text splashed across bright, colourful spreads.
What I liked about the book was the fact that it lays the pros and cons of each invention before the reader, addressing its impact on world history while also talking about its significance in the present. The illustrations are absolutely and add a lot of value to the reading experience.
While the book does follow a timeline, I do wish, however, that there was a better flow in the way the text progressed – it could have helped to paint a clearer picture of how these amazing ideas and concepts came to build the world as we know it today.
Final verdict: I recommend it for the vibrant art and the nicely balanced note on each invention.
