When Texas girl Megan Connolly has decided to take a summer job at Thrill Ride, a theme park by Lake Erie, far from her wedding planning family and her boyfriend, she doesnt expect to meet someone like Parker. Parker is upfront about his attraction to her, but Megan is only interested in being friends& but this proves to be harder said than done. Especially when being with Parker is so easy, especially when he makes her laugh. Especially when her boyfriend doesnt really seem to care what is going on in her life& and Parker does.

Favorite characters, quotes/lines: Megan: She really didnt have much of a chance against Parker ?; Parker: I liked his protectiveness

When I finished this book I felt: It was a cute book& not my favorite by Hawthorne, but definitely worth reading. Theme parks just arent really my thing and Megans boyfriend was really annoying. I didnt like how she loved him and couldnt be with anyone else when theyve only been together for three months.

I would recommend this book to: readers who want a fluffy teen romance to read

Rachel Hawthorne's style has always intrigued it: it's quirky and fun, and she writes really well, presenting ideas that a teen mind thinks up of. And she doesn't fail me in this book either.

Megan works at a theme park, despite her boyfriend's wishes, and there she meets Parker. Megan's naturally shy, and Parker is somewhat the opposite: they seem the perfect match. But of course, there's the boyfriend nagging in the back of her head, and suddenly Megan's confused.

Some areas, the troubled mind show was a bit excessive, but overall, the ending included, didn't disappoint me too much.

Megan I fifteen year-old takes on a summer job in Michagan to get away from her ever bickering mother and older sister who are trying to plan a wedding, creating an unbearable enviorment for her. But her summer in the fun may not be all she expected because she has to leave behind her boy-friend Nick.

When Megan gets to the theme park she quickly befriends her very bubbly room-mate from L.A and learns of her "many guy friends". But there is one in particluar that she cannot forget. Parker, who she cannot get rid of. But soon there awkward meetings turns into a routine. There friendship quickly grows as Megan soon learns that he is her room-mates older brother.

Sparks soon fly which leaves an unsettled feeling in Megan's stomach because of Nick. Unsure about what to do about the situation, she becomes frustrated. To make matters worse Megan gets more than one surprise visit from two people she would not have mind if they had stayed back at home.

Megan have been tested through out the summer with her job, now it's her hearts turn. Who will she choose? Her boy-friend or the local hottie in the park? If she does will the relationship and sparks keep her going, or is it just another summer love, a fling?

Read the book to find out.

One of the better books (if not the best) that i have ever read. Howthorne's characters come to life with each word written in ink. You get a complete grasp of who they were and how they later evolved throughout the book. However my only complaint with the style in which the book was written in was that the ending came to fast and ended to quickly. I didn't get a proper feel of the "TRUE" relationship between Parker and Megan after the climax, and i really would have liked to see what would have happened.

I would have to say that over-all my favourite character would have definately been Parker. He is a true gentleman, every girls perfect character and is described so thoroughly and vividly that when reading the book i could actually picture every physical detail about him. And sadly left the thoughts of Megan and skippedd right to there encounters at the park and his house. Sadly the only guys like that will ever remain in fictional books. Maybe that is why i was so attracted to this story.

But over-all it is a great read for teens if they are intrested in romanctical books.

I've love all of Rachel Hawthorne's romantic comedies for teens. I'm not a teen, but they are still fun to read! She never lets you down.
It's about romance, boyfriends, new love and friends all in one great summer beach time read.
Looking forward to reading more of these types books from her.

i think that this book is one of the best books that i have ever read. i thought that their was going to be a fight between Nick and Parker but thank goodness their wasn't. and thank goodness that Megan ended up with Parker cuz Nick was a jerk. he wanted what he wanted. if anyone wants a good book to read and not put down this is the perfect book.

Rachel Hawthorne has done it again, with her latest novel "Thrill Ride"

This book starts off with Megan searching for a summer job, that ends up being far away from her new boyfriend, Nick. Like all books by Rachel, we know that her first choice for summer love will be turned down. This book goes through a world wind of finding the right guy and learning how to not be with him.

I loved this book. It was a pretty quick read, but like all of Hawthorne's books, it is a bit predictable.

I loved the fact that Megan goes through a lot, and trys to avoid being with the boy that has a major crush on her, Parker. You begin to love the character more than anything knowing that he will love her with or without her consent.
