TTYL is a good book told completely in Instant Messages. It is definetly a book that everyone can relate too because the girls have problems that are real. You feel like your the one sitting there typing the instant messages. At the same time though the language and situations are pretty mature, so if you don't like those kinds of books then I reccomend that you DONT'T read this book.

I enjoy books that use instant messaging and emails to tell the story (ever since reading Meg Cabot's Boy series that uses this method, I've looked for books that include things like this. Even if it is just ever so often sprinkled throughout the prose, I enjoy it). So, I really enjoyed the format of TTYL, and the chatspeak didn't bother me either. It was all very understated and not an in-your-face, over-the-top type of chatspeak.

While there wasn't a whole lot of plot, I still enjoyed it. I like that a lot of books anymore are going with the barely there plot. It works for me.

I also liked the characters of Angela and Zoe. IMing doesn't provide a very good avenue for character development, but I think the characters were well written and developed as far as could be through IMing.

If you hadn't noticed, there is one third of the trio missing from my well liked characters list. That is because I feel nothing but disgust for the character of Maddie. I disliked her from beginning to end. There was nothing about her to like. She was a selfish beeyotch to be frank. I felt like skipping her IM conversations but knew that then I'd miss out on the other two characters so I didn't skip. I don't know if this was intentional for the author to make her the hated character in the book but she was.

Unfortunately, Maddie's character was so cringeworthy that I can't imagine reading the sequels if she is in them. It would be entirely masochistic so I think I'll have to pass.

The reader follows three friends-Zoe, Maddie and Angela-as they enter the tenth grade. The whole book is composed in IMs (instant messages) and through this format, the reader is able to get a feel for each of the three personalities in the book. It's hard to actually summarize the book because there isn't just one plot. Each of the characters has their own complicated life which they discuss which each other online, aside from the normal everyday girly chatter.

The IM format is very true to life. I felt like I was really reading people's IMs. (Definitely appealing to read other people's private converstaions!) It kind of got annoying after reading a whole book in that format, but it was still a good book and I basically read it one sitting. Well, in one day anyway. I definitely recommend the book and I'm going to go check out the sequel "ttfn"!

This is a book to read when you have nothing better to do. Its fun and simple yet it'll keep you hooked. This book is about three friends, a story told through IM's. The three friends learn to stick together through thick and thin, even when one of them refuses to talk to you. Battling popular girl, and a cute but pedaphile teacher, the girls learn to help each other and that you can't always fight your own battles.

A cute book that talks about three friends, Zoe, Maddie, and Angela going through a year in high school (which includes parties, boys, and more!) They try help each other through their struggles and have fun together.
I liked the book's IM format which was pretty unique.
