Who will fill in for the missing musician in the marching band? Don't worry. When friends are asked to help, they always answer: Yes, we'll do it! But when the baker helps the barber, the doctor helps the baker, the gardener helps the doctor, and a clown gets in on the action, things get hilariously out of hand. Based on ancient Jewish teachings, this humorous story shines a spotlight on the importance of community and our responsibility for one another.

Yes, We’ll Do It follows along as a neighborhood fills in for each other in their respective roles. When anyone is asked if they can help, the answer is always yes, but when the roles get into the wrong hands, there is a bit of a mess. The baker helps the barber, the doctor helps the baker, the gardener helps the doctor, and much more. They bring their current specialties to the new role they are stepping into, which causes a hilarious time.
What I Liked: At the start of this book, you get introduced to two children going on a walk when a band member asks them to take his place to help. This is where the story begins, with people stepping in as others get whisked away to other tasks. The community is quick to say yes, and it isn’t until they are already at the new job that they remember that they were in the middle of something and reach out for assistance.
This book will have you laughing as the baker struggles to fill in for a barber and gets it all wrong, and when the gardener steps in to fill in the doctor’s shoes and tries to heal with what he knows best, flowers. The illustrations in this book add to the humor as you see the various ways that people get mixed up in the jobs they are doing. This book ends with everyone getting the chance to go back to their actual jobs and recognizing the difference that it makes when people come together.
Final Verdict: Yes, We’ll Do It is a fun and silly book about the importance of community and caring for each other as the need arises. Children will enjoy seeing the workers in their various new jobs, and the silly ways that they try to help out.
