I loved the focus on an ordinary day. It's not a holiday, but the smiles one everyone's faces turns every moment into a special event. This story also reminds us that we're connected to loved ones even when apart, in the way that we hold one another in our thoughts, and it makes the reunion that much more exciting. In our busy world, it can be tough for a family to be on the same schedule, and I appreciated how these illustrations always include mom, dad, and their child all moving through the day together.
