Fox and Crow can agree on two things: their love of cheese and loathing of each other. These cagey animals will do whatever they can to outwit their sworn enemy and claim sole possession of the prized cheese they keep finding. But they are too caught up in their plotting and planning to realize they've picked the wrong house to steal from—since the mother of the house is one fed up Mama Bear who knows exactly how to contend with freeloaders.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable book with fabulous illustrations and a nicely repetitive structure that early readers will love. In each chapter, Fox and Crow make a three step plan to trick the other out of a piece of cheese. There's a nod to Goldilocks and the Three Bears, which is fun. Early readers will enjoy going through each step of each plan, and then seeing both Crow and Fox get outsmarted in the end by Mama Bear, who makes them take responsibility for their actions. I can see this being a favorite!
