ANGELINA AND THE VALENTINE'S DAY SURPRISE is a cute board book that will delight Angelina fans. It is Valentine's Day, and Angelina has made valentines for all the people around town that she cares about. As she heads out to deliver her special cards, readers are able to pull them out of the envelopes on each page to read. After she is done handing them out, she heads home to receive some special valentines of her own- and to leave a special one for you!

What I loved: This is a really sweet holiday read about sharing love and kindness through cards on Valentines. Angelina has written special notes to all the people she loves in her life, and these sweet messages convey all the fun of Valentine's Day. The pull-out cards add to the fun for young readers who can open each one and then read the special inscriptions. With a final card to "you" (the reader), there is a feeling of interaction in the story with a beloved character.

The book features some lovely art of the characters that readers will know and love, as well as lots of fun Valentine's symbology. The simple story will appeal to toddlers and preschoolers who will enjoy sharing the holiday with Angelina.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, there is not much of the plot I would expect with Angelina books, but this is a fun, fluffy holiday read overall.

Final verdict: A sweet holiday board book, ANGELINA AND THE VALENTINE'S DAY SURPRISE is an adorable and interactive read that fans of the character are sure to love. Recommend for toddlers and preschoolers.
