One of Shel Silverstein's classic collections of wit and "wisdom" shared through artistic prose, "A Light in the Attic" should certainly be on every child's reading list. With poems ranging from 'Backward Bill' to the 'Quick Digesting Gink', the smiles and giggles will come a mile a minute, all while you are unknowingly broadening their literary appreciation.
I was given this book as a birthday present several years ago and still find myself pulling it out from time to time to sample a page or two of it's rhyme and reason. The perfect fit for readers young and young at heart, it is a children's treasury of poetry that will be cherished for many years to come.
