A Ramadan Night seeks to capture the special feeling that accompanies the first night of Ramadan. The illustrations have a dreamy quality with the use of yellow against dark blue to evoke the special feelings the child is experiencing. This story is about a boy going with his father to join the other male members of the community in prayer, and the lack of gender representation stood out to me. Overall, this book succeeds in capturing a positive feeling of love, celebration, and faith. One thing I do wish the book had been an equal representation of females during Ramadan.
