In this book, Pippa, Claudia, and Sara set off on an adventure to rescue a lost unicorn who is in Mermaid Land. While on this adventure they have to find a way through jellyfish, a swamp of poisonous plants, and a cave full of annoyed bats to get to the secret place that a mermaid is keeping the lost unicorn. Will they be able to rescue the unicorn and make it back before anyone notices that they are missing?

What I Liked: This book has you hooked from start to finish as you have to know if Pippa, Claudia, and Sara will be successful in the first mission that they take on. It’s fascinating to learn about how Unicornia fits in with the rest of this world, and be introduced to Mermaid Land. It was also interesting to see how the unicorn rescuers navigate escaping sticky situations, and how they use their creativity to help them through those instances.

The illustrations from this story capture your attention right from the moment that you open the book. Each set of pages has at least one illustration that is vibrant and full of color. The illustrations do a terrific job of breaking up the text and making the pacing of the story feel like it is moving along quickly.
