This book is separated into 30 days with a devotional per day using the story of animals who live in the friendly forest. A storm has brought a lot of changes for Blaze, Hensley, Hoo, Cubby, and Flora and now they have to work together to rebuild their community.

What I Liked: This book begins by introducing you to the storm that just happened and what to expect from this book. This is a fun book that works both as a devotional and also as a storybook if you just want to read each short story. The book is great to read aloud with younger children right before bedtime to provide them with some reflection time and an opportunity to grow in their faith.

This book has a story per day that is short which begins using a bible verse and ends with reflection questions, and a prayer related to the story. Each story is only a few pages which is great for younger readers and then has questions not only to ensure understanding of the story but also to connect it back to faith.

The questions, truth statement, and prayer are great for people of all ages who are trying to connect with their faith on a deeper level. At times us as adults forget about small things such as having grace for ourselves and other along with the importance of patience, and this book brings us back to those things and reminds us to trust in God when things are rough.

Final Verdict: Adventures in the Friendly Forest is a sweet book with cute characters that will help children learn and grow their relationship with God and their faith. This book is perfect for children ages 5 and up and is great to use as a transition to bed time activity. This would be a great gift for children completing their first communion and perfect for easter baskets.
