Jack's mom may not think "because" is an answer, but Jack does. All through the book, he starts most of his answers with "because." Why is he sitting in a laundry basket with many of his big brother's things piled around him? Because it's his space ship. Why did he run in side with muddy feet? Because a bee was after him. Why does he cover himself head to toe with bandaids? Just because. As a mom of three boys, this book was like a snapshot of my home when they were younger. It's sweet, funny, and accurate.
