Big, Little: A Book of Opposites features an impressive array of opposite pairs to explore the concept for young readers thoroughly. The simple line drawings make it easy to see the opposites. This minimalist approach focuses on the words and prevents confusion. There are a few pages with folded drawings that expand for an engaging visual surprise that was highly engaging to the reader I worked with. This isn’t quite a board book, even though it is a small book; the inside pages are paper, and the concept is fine for a supervised read with toddlers, but it is best suited for preschool students who can be more careful handling the physical book and are more ready to learn about opposites.
