Join Captain Stinkbottom in this windy tale which features hilarious rhymes and delightful illustrations.
Stinkbottom the Pirate has a problem. He can’t go to the bathroom and is constantly passing wind. His flatulence is seriously damaging his status on the ship - all the crew laugh at him with each smelly poot!  But one day his wind turns into his superpower when he defeats Captain Potatoface with one heroic toot! From then on, Stinkbottom becomes the most notorious pirate around – pee-yew!

Potty humor with a purpose. A hilarious tale for children (and adults who aren't afraid to laugh)!

Captain Stinkbottom is a unique way to appeal to children with constipation to get more fiber in their diet through fruits and veggies. The character is imagined as a pirate and has so much flatulence that he can use it as a cannon blast in battle. The text highlights the rhyming words to make it an odd choice for practicing reading skills, while also focusing on a common problem among kids with poor nutritional habits. The illustrations are engaging and a bit silly. Overall, this book's central message is that plenty of fruits and Vegetables in your diet will solve constipation, making you feel better and bringing friends back around you.

Joey Wyatt is also known as Captain Stinkbottom and he has a big problem. He can't go to the bathroom every day, which leads to excessive flatulence. His crew think it is funny, but they soon use it to their advantage to beat the bad guys. Then Elsa Pinkhair arrives. She has a solution for Captain Stinkbottom, but will he listen?
What I Liked: There is a good message here about the importance of getting regular fibre in your diet, but there are a lot of laughs too. I think this book will especially appeal to young boys. It allows them to look at the issue with humor rather than being embarrassed.
What Left Me Wanting More: I would have liked a little more from the illustrations. It also left me wondering, is Joey still Captain Stinkbottom now that his problem has been solved?
Final Verdict: An entertaining book with an important message for kids. It can show them what could happen if they don't take care of their body and eat fibre rich foods. I would recommend it.
