This book is about a thirteen year old girl named Zinny who accidentally "rediscovers" a huge path that's been grown over and has disappears. It's over two hundred years old and she wonders how long it'd take her to uncover it, but doesn't follow through until her beloved aunts and she uses it as a coping device to deal with her grief and her guilt. Then she decides to uncover the entire length and travel along it, spending long hours, then days and even weeks at a time away from home working on it.

This book is sweet and fun and makes you think at the same time. It's written towards slightly younger readers, twelve and up, but there's also a sweet first love story that will endear the book to older readers as well, and Zinny is a character who will be much loved by all readers in her individuality.
