This is one of my son's favorite cookbooks to date!
Cooking Class offers over 70 different, kid friendly recipes, while also covering kitchen basics like: recipe difficulty ratings, basic kitchen rules (i.e. washing your hands), preparing your work space, and more. Each section is broken up into chapters with different lessons and recipes:
Chapter Two - Breakfast Cafe (Cinnamon Sugar, Granola Bars.. )
Chapter Five - Eat Your Veggies (Salad Dressings, Tomato Toast.. )
Chapter Seven - Time For Dessert (Hot Cocoa Pops, Carrot Cupcakes.. )
Each recipe instruction, etc., features amazing photographs of different parts of the meal making process. I loved that they featured children doing these tasks.
The book is laid out wonderfully to be both eye catching and informational. From measurements to kitchen vocabulary, there is something new to learn on every page! We've done cooking as part of homeschool lessons, but Cooking Class made it easier to organize lesson plans.
My kids LOVED the bonus "pull out features." There were fun game cards, cute place cards, recipe cards, and so many stickers!
A must for any kitchen! Cooking Class is a kid-friendly cookbook that makes preparing and eating healthy meals fun! The images are extremely helpful, showing exactly how to prep the food and what equipment to use. The recipes are not the basic ones that we sometimes see in kids cookbooks and instead give little chefs a way to be creative while cooking and try meals that they may have never heard of before.
