The Cranium Big Book of Outrageous Fun is a game that is also a book. The game container opens like a book and is kept shut with a magnetic strip. The book includes a pull out Mini Conga game board and clay, a timer and game pieces, along with 40 rewritable activity pages and a sign-in book where kids can ask their friends and family questions and record the answers.

The activity categories include: creativity, words, data and active play (they call this Star Performer). This is one busy book and lots of fun.

The stated reading range is 9-12, but we successfully played the games and worked the activities with my four and seven year olds--with a little adult reading help. A great game-in-a-book-in-a-game that works on many levels: kids can complete the activities alone for quiet time or in groups for outrageous fun. The Mini Conga game and the activities are thinking games, but they are also pure fun. Kids will learn and use their minds without even knowing it. And, mom and dad can play too.

I think this is an excellent "road" game, perfect for car trips, long visits at the doctor's office...or anyplace else that a little activity would liven things up.

My only complaint, which is minor: I would have liked the book to have a handle on the spine for easy carrying, so that little hands can help transport the game.

Jam-packed with activities, this family FUNderful game-in-a-book-in-a-game is perfect for independent readers (or smaller, good listeners who will accept an adult reader's help.) This product will be released on September 7th, and would make a great holiday or birthday gift.

Highly recommended. My kids won't put it down!
