Thank you to Jessica MacLeish and Harper Collins for a copy of Dazzle Like Dolly. I was excited to win so I could review it. I'm a fan of Dolly Parton.
I have known Dolly's music for years and have only recently learned of how charitable she is. This journal is a perfect example of her kindness. I plan on giving it to my young niece who plays guitar after I review it.
I loved the Creativity section! The colors, fonts and more importantly, the questions asked are so creative for a young teen. I remember how hard it was to be a teen and I think the "When You're Feeling Blue" section will help teens. The space to write out or draw answers is big enough and colorful. Dolly's forgiveness of Porter shows how it's ok to feel all the feelings but that forgiveness is a huge part of it as well. My niece plays in a church band and I know she will appreciate the "Define Your Faith" section will be of interest to her. The "Be Yourself" is the main focus of this journal (to me anyway) and that is why I am so excited to share it with my niece.
Beautifully pink, important insightful questions and a very nicely laid out format make this a great journal for a teen girl - especially one who is Christian and into music.
