Here's another of those irresistible "who knew?" collections, highlighting what can happen in sixty seconds. These amazing facts range from the absurd/funny to the horrifying. Who knew that ten grown elephants can make one pound of poop every minute? Or that 2.3 million gallons of crude oil are used up every minute in the world (the book points out that it would take two city water towers to hold that amount)?

The chapters cover topics to interest just about everyone: the Earth, space, the human body, technology, animals, food, pop culture, and sports. The authors spend a page explaining each fact, giving readers meaty information--as well as lots to think about. And the cartoony illustrations by Mary Anne Lloyd are a humorous touch.
