Go Go Dodo!

A Dodo goes for a walk through different places including a jungle and forest. He thinks it is safe and lovely, but the reality is very different. He is being stalked by a tiger and narrowly avoiding all sorts of danger. Silly Dodo!
What I Liked: The images were great at conveying the story. The humor was portrayed well and I think kids would have a lot of fun with this book.
What Left Me Wanting More: There isn't a great deal of story to it, it mostly relies on the pictures, however, what little it has works well.
Final Verdict: If you enjoy having a giggle with the kids, this is the book for you. It would be good for younger kids who are perhaps more visual learners. It will definitely keep them entertained.

Go Go Dodo! by Huw Lewis Jones is a humorous picture book that will have readers laughing out loud. The book follows a Dodo as he walks through a “friendly jungle”, a “peaceful swamp” and a “soothing sea”, but the pictures tell a different story. A very hungry tiger is following the Dodo bird as he visits each of these places, but the bird is blissfully unaware and always manages to escape the tiger.



What I Liked: The illustrations are bright and colorful, and they are the focal point of the book. The words in the book tell the story of a Dodo bird out for a gentle walk, while the pictures show a menacing tiger lurking behind it, and that contrast is what makes this story stand out. I read this to my Kindergarten and first-grade class, and they laughed and shouted at each page. It really is the perfect book to read aloud.



Go Go Dodo! is a hilarious picture book that is perfect for young readers who will enjoy the antics of both the Dodo bird and the tiger.
