Horrid Henry Tricks The Tooth Fairy is the next installment in the Horrid Henry series by Francesca Simonand boy, is this book a brow-raiser.  Henry does all sorts of horrid thingsthings that make you shake your head and wonder if theres anyone more horrid in the whole wide world.

First, Henry steals Perfect Peters tooth right out from under his pillow, and tries to trick the Tooth Fairy into leaving the money for him.  When that doesnt work, Henry chows down on mounds and mounds of candy to make one of his own teeth fall out so he can get paid for it.  The belly-ache that follows is hilarious.

Next, Henry decides he doesnt want to be in his cousin Prissy Pollys stupid wedding, so he tries his best to ruin his ruffled shirt, green knickerbockers and pointy shoes by rolling on the ground and stomping through mud puddles.

Later, Henry has to put up with Moody Margarets mischievous antics after her parents go off on a two-week vacation.  With Margaret in the house and doing all sorts of loud, bossy and rude things, Henry doesnt have time to be horrid.  Instead, he concentrates on how to get her parents to come back for her so he and the rest of the family can have some peace and quiet for a change.

Finally, Henry takes great pleasure in running a new teacher out of the classroom.  He breaks pencils, jiggles desks, scribbles on other students papers, and does all sorts of horrid things to irritate the teacher.  She finally gives up, and runs howling from the classroom.

Children will love this latest installment of Horrid Henry.  As always, artist Tony Ross illustrations are vivid and laugh-out-loud funny, and are sure to leave children shaking their heads and thanking their lucky stars that Henry is isnt running loose in their own classrooms or neighborhoods.
