Bigfoot loves his fur so much that he becomes a bit conceited about it. He misses the fact that he interrupts his friends to discuss his own fur. He gives unsolicited advice on how they can have better hair. Then he decides not to get a furcut and allows it to get long. So long that his hair takes up all the space wherever he goes, and his friends are not as happy. That is when Bigfoot realizes it is time for a cut and to start being more considerate of his friends’ interests.
Final Verdict: Bigfoot learns a lesson in consideration. It is ok to love yourself and be proud of your body, but it is also important to pay attention to your friends’ wants and needs. This is something that children can relate to. It can be hard to think beyond your own likes and concerns to take others into account. This book could help create a discussion for that social awareness.
