In a sweet lilt of rhyme, each mother tells her baby how much she loves it. The horse mama loves her child "as much as a warm summer breeze" while the mother bear loves hers "as much as the forest has trees." Each mom and child, beautifully depicted in gorgeous paintings, leads us to the next and then to the ending, a human mom loving her newborn "as much as a mother can love."
This book is loving without being smarmy, and seems not only an ideal read-aloud from mom to child but also the perfect present for any child (of any age) to give her mother on Valentine's or Mother's Day.
