A little boy puts some serious thought into a valentine to suit each recipient, including his pets, family, and friends. My particular favorite is to his dog: "I'll give you extra treaties . . .and let you lick my feeties." The illustration, a joyous pup licking a laughing barefoot kid says it all!

This is a quick rhyming read with cute simple pictures, and a heartwarming finish. The theme, discouraging a "One size fits all" approach to Valentine's Day, will give young valentine givers food for thought.
