“In This Classroom” by Andrew Hacket, illustrated by Arthur Lin, makes it so that both students and teachers can feel comfortable in their classroom settings, showing that there is room for everyone to thrive, grow, and share while working together.

From new friends and old friends to mistakes and mishaps, there is always room to learn and improve. Respecting differences and understanding the validity of feelings is another important aspect of the classroom environment that must be nurtured.

The illustrations in this book do a wonderful job depicting the various relationships and issues that children might go through, along with the ways in which struggles can be overcome or adapted to through perseverance and hard work, so that dreams can become reality. The back matter of the book also includes a nice note for teachers, an understanding of the reasoning for using the word “we” throughout the story, and some ideas for how to practically apply the ideas in the book to classroom life.

It's always nice to have a fresh start, and this book gives readers the opportunity to try having just that!
