This biography details the life of Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of the Anne of Green Gables series and many other popular books. It focuses mainly on her younger days, including her childhood with her stern grandparents, the time she spent with her beloved father and cruel stepmother in Alberta, her struggle to get an education, and her early success in writing.
This book was a little disappointing for me because, after reading Montgomerys five-volume journal, there wasnt really anything here that I didnt know. But for an emerging young Montgomery fan, Id say this is a must read, and a good precursor to the journals.
