Latke's First Hanukkah is a wonderful board book, full of counting and holiday traditions.

We are not a Jewish family, but I love learning about different religions and traditions with my children. Latke took us to a new room every night, to see how this festival of lights was celebrated.
There isn't too much of a plot, but for the intended audience not only is this book teaching basic counting skills, but different aspects of Hanukkah! There are tons of little details to pick up on and discuss as a family.
