Lluvia/Rain takes you on an adventure with a child playing in the rain. While playing in the rain, the children discover various sounds, sights, smells, tastes, and textures associated with this type of weather.
What I Liked: This book introduces you to the rain and the various senses associated with rain. The top line is in Spanish, and the line right under is in English, making it easy to translate for those of us who may be unfamiliar with the language. This book even translates the sounds that are associated with rain into Spanish, making it fun for children to listen to the way other languages create sound effects.
The illustrations throughout this book are engaging for younger children and will keep them entertained. Toddlers will enjoy seeing the fun way other children play in the rain and will be waiting for a rainy day to come so they too can jump in puddles.
Final Verdict: Lluvia/Rain is a great early introduction for toddlers to learn about the weather and what happens when it rains. It is also a fun way to introduce toddlers to new words in another language, whether their first language is English or Spanish.
