What immediately drew me to this book was the cover. Quentin Blake’s drawings are so distinct and beautiful that I would just buy them for the art. I fell in love with this book and the story. It’s simple and beautiful. LOVEYKINS is about this woman who finds a baby bird after a storm and takes him home to take care of him. This book was everything I was hoping it would be. Each page is filled with Quentin’s familiar illustrations. I actually read this book twice. Once just to absorb the drawings and again to actually read the story. This book was quirky and very fun to read for me and my nephew. He absolutely loved that the bird kept getting bigger and bigger, and when he finally flies away.

Overall this book was very silly and cute. Fans of Roald Dahl’s books will absolutely love LOVEYKINS. Parents will adore reading this to their children and will love adding it to their shelves at home.
