Marco Flamingo is looking forward to the return of the Snow Birds. Marco doesn't get to travel far like they do, and he's anxious to hear their stories of distant places. But, no one seems to want to tell him about the one subject he's most interested in...snow. So, against the advice of his friends, Marco decides to fly north for the winter.
Like all other books from Raven Tree Press, this one is meant to promote bilingual literacy. In this case, it's a story told in English and Spanish, with one set of text in black and the other in red.
The story is fun and engaging. The illustrations, though, really sell me on this book. Marco's facial expressions are priceless, and the paintings are smooth and full of details to explore. The snow scenes are especially appealing.
