What I loved:
For little fans of Disney's Cars, MIGHTY TRUCK will be a great addition to their library. With blocky, shiny illustrations, a silly hero origin story emerges from the mud. Super powers appear out of thin air which help Clarence rescue Axleburg citizens near and far. MIGHTY TRUCK will have little ones giggling well past bedtime. My two year old LOVES muddy old Clarence and his escapades.

What left me wanting more:
Parents should know that in the end, Clarence decides he'd rather play in the mud and get dirty than be a town hero. He does mention that "help is only a wash away," implying he can transform into Mighty Truck whenever he wants and continue helping the townsfolk should the need arise, but it's clear Clarence doesn't really want to be a hero if it means staying clean. This ending left me unsettled, and I ultimately set the book aside in favor of others with more solid messages showcasing the immense value of helping others in need.

Overall:
MIGHTY TRUCK is a silly superhero romp without much meat or originality, but monster truck lovers will beg parents to read it again and again.
