I first read this book way back in middle school; I rediscovered it once I became an adult, read it again, and immediately purchased it. I've reread it several times since.

The very unique perspective, a tale told through the eyes of a china doll, has always stuck with me. It kind of gives a Toy Story vibe, but focused deeper into the mind of a single doll.

Despite Edward being an inanimate object, he experiences so many relatable and deep emotions / thoughts and has great character development. Edward is unable to move or even talk, which makes for interesting scenarios that leave you wishing he could react in some way, or wishing you could step into the world and help him knowing he much he is suffering in a way no one else can see.

Whether you are a child or an adult, you will certainly become invested in this china rabbit's complex journey; your heart will break for him, as well as for the many people he encounters along the way.
