This book is about a teenage girl that has absolutely nothing better to do than complain about the fact that she's fat. I couldn't stand it. I didn't even finish the whole thing. It was so incredibly obvious as to what was going to happen. I prefer books that you want to keep reading becuase you want to know what will happen next.

It also has a lot to do with food, that was fine, but overdone. I just wanted to scream "get it over with! I know! You like food!" who cares? It was a pointless boring read. Very glad I borrowd it from the library and didn't buy it.

Angelica Cookson Potts, better known as Angel, wants to be a chef when she graduates from high school. Food is her one love, something her stick-thin mother cannot understand. She is larger than all of her friends, and the Love of her Life, Adam, the dishiest boy in school, so she decides to make Major Life Changes. She starts with an all-cabbage diet, which produces rather nasty results. Then she starts going to the gym. But when the fashion show rolls around, she realizes that her size isn't such a bad thing after all. Complete with recipes, this book is about accepting who you are. They are very funny, and readers of all ages and sizes will enjoy it.

there are not many british teen chick lit out there and this one is worth mentioning. it's sweet and simple - very likable. i like angel cookson more than girls in other bigger-than-life heroines because she has such a positive attitude about it. yes, she did go on a diet to succumb to the society's definition of beauty, but she didn't let it get to her. she's tough and cool.i'm glad she learnt how much her weird family loved her =)

Angelica is the daughter of a crazy protester and a size 0 ex-model who constantly berates her about her weight. Her magnificently skinny and perfect friends don't help either. Angel can't help it though because one whiff of a pastry or one look at Jamie Oliver and she's gone. This isn't going to do her any good though since the school fashion show is coming up and she has to model a very small dress and she has to walk down the runway and kiss the worst guy in the history of the world.

I thought this book would be better, and longer, but it was pretty good overall. It really easy to read and has really cute pictures that go along with the story. I did enjoy the main character, Angelica Cookson Potts, who has two wierd parents, has cool friends, loves to eat and cook, but thinks she's big and wiggly. But she loves everyone in her family and house all the same.
There's a school fashion show coming up and she wants to get in shape, so diets, but that doesn't work out. She finally learns to love herself for who she is and finds out more about her mother, which brings them closer. It was quick and really heartwarming. If you like a good story to fit in your busy schedules, this book is for you. There is also a sequel, which I'll be reading soon. This is a great book for all you british fans.
