This is the first book in a bilingual series for young learners that helps children build their vocabulary using things around them at home. This book has various scenes inside and around homes in which children are asked to search for different items in those rooms. While they are looking for those items they are also learning both the English and Spanish words for those items.
What I Liked: This book goes through various scenes in and outside of the house in which children are introduced to the different rooms. On the left side the space is introduced in English and then on the right the same sentence is repeated in Spanish. The side panels on each page have various things to search for in the room with the words in English and Spanish connected to the illustration. The illustrations throughout the book are vibrant and engaging making it fun to stare at pages for long periods of time as children look for the different items.
The book ends with different colors and items that are related to those colors such as a green plant and a white dog. Then there is a page that counts to ten in English and Spanish with various items that were introduced in the book. The book then does a final review of animals, clothing, food, and toys. The final page of the book tells you about
Final Verdict: My First Seek & Learn: At Home is an entertaining bilingual book that introduces children to new vocabulary in a fun, interactive manner. Children ages 2 and up will enjoy reading this book over and over and encounter new things each time they revisit this book. There’s plenty to learn in this book even if you are an adult who is not familiar with Spanish.
