I really got into this nifty collection of state license plates. Each of the states is represented in mini plate form. On the back of each card, you get a list of facts about the state, such as when it became a state, the capital, the nickname (there are some strange ones), and much more.

I like the fun facts best. They contain strange little tidbits about the state that you likely didn't know. For instance, Montana has the largest grizzly bear population in the lower forty-eight states. And, the first baseball stadium was built in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

There are also educational facts gallore, primarily about first settlers to the region and other politically interesting facts. You'll also see a postage stamp size picture of the state flag and a brief list of famous people born there.

This would be a great set for teaching purposes and also for road trips. I could envision playing a license plate game (since you can play with each card separately, you could have a game to see who collected the most license plates). This isn't just for kids either -- I had a blast going through the cards.
