Noisy School Bus: I Can Learn My First Sounds

NOISY SCHOOL BUS is a fun, interactive board book great for toddlers and preschoolers. The book features a rhyme as the school bus picks up children and heads to school. On each page, there is a directed part of the squishy bus to press to hear a specific sound, such as of the children laughing or tires moving.

What I loved: This is a really engaging and fun board book for little readers. The book brings the excitement of school and the potential of riding the school bus to toddlers and preschoolers. The illustrations are full of color and details that keep readers hooked, though the central image of the school bus certainly steals the show on each page.

The buttons to push corresponding to the text on each page add to the fun, and the squishy school bus provides something enjoyable and tactile to interact with. The on-off switch on the back is a great touch, especially with the replaceable batteries for when they run out.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the batteries ran out on our copy within 5 minutes of beginning to read the book. They are challenging to replace, as button batteries are not something everyone will have on hand - and they present a potential choking hazard (but they are secured with a screw, so this is not much of a concern). As another small thing, the images are pretty detailed, so it can be tough to find/read the words on some of the pages.

Final verdict: NOISY SCHOOL BUS is a cute and interactive board book that will charm young readers and get them excited about school.
