Not a Box was such a success that author/illustrator Portis went back to the drawing board and created a pig that plays with what appears to be a stick. Except the pig insists that its not a stick - it's a fishing rod, a paint brush, a sword to fight of dragons - but NOT just a stick. This all may sound very familiar to anyone who also read Not a Box, but it is still a fun, imaginative romp in its own right.
The illustrations are still spare and graphic, but a bit more developed than in Portis first outing. Very fun but if you have to choose just one, I would choose Not a Box.
