Thank you to Kate DiCamillo, Carmen Mok and Candlewick Press for a copy of Orris and Timble: The Beginning. I don't give away spoilers in my reviews.
The cover of Orris and Timble is eye-catching, adorable and classic. The navy blue background with the moon and stars is lovely. The characters of Orris and Timble are very cute yet classically drawn.
This is the story of an mouse who lives a quiet, lonely life and an owl who finds himself in a predicament. The owl's foot is caught in a mousetrap and he feels defeated and asks the mouse for help. Orris the mouse is afraid of owls - as all mice are.
The story is beautifully written and drawn and is a wonderful example of compassion for children to read.
