Want to learn how presidential elections are run and have a good laugh at the same time? Just read Otto Runs for President, by Rosemary Wells, and youll do both.
Otto Runs for President is the cute tail&um, tale, of three dogs at Barkadelphia School who decide to run for school president. It explains the assorted shenanigans that go on during an election, including people (or puppies, in this case) who base their campaigns on their own popularity, and those who promise the world in exchange for votes, even when they know they cant deliver. The book helps future voters learn to wade through the fluff and empty promises and choose a candidate (like furry little Otto) who listens to the peoples concerns, then works to meet their needs.
A clever way to teach the very young the basics of campaigns and elections.
