OUR WORLD: JAPAN is a cute board book that introduces a day in the life of a child in Japan. The book begins when they wake up in the morning, before having breakfast, going out to play, run errands, and eventually have a bath before bed.
What I loved: This is really adorable and introduces some of the basics about what life could be like for a child in Japan, which suggests some of the foods they might eat as well as a few key words in the language. The words are written in script, as well as phonetically in English so that caregivers will be able to pronounce them, which is really helpful. The backmatter explains a bit more about these concepts and defines the words throughout. The illustrations are cartoonish and colorful, which will work well for little ones. Brief text on each page makes this book move quickly and works well for the intended audience of babies and young toddlers.
Final verdict: OUR WORLD: JAPAN is a cute board book that introduces life in Japan to children using an approachable and colorful story. This will work well for the youngest readers.
