You've got to love a great browsing book like this one, with its snippets of awesomely odd information. For example, we see a true "painted lady," who is completely covered in brilliant tattoos. We learn about a Thai cemetery where skeletons are dug up every 20 years, cleaned, and reassembled. And, who would have guessed that a parrot named N'kisi has a huge vocabulary--and ESP!

This book is so much fun to read that it's hard to tear yourself away to do something like, uh, write a book review. Hey, did you hear about the cone snail's paralyzing venom, which can kill a human in minutes . . .?

Extremely enjoyable, and highly recommended!
