Max and his trusty pig, Pinky, have a wonderful time painting their barn red, especially when all their barnyard friends pitch in to help.   But later that night, someone paints over their work.  The next morning, their beautiful red barn is pink!  Max and the gang quickly re-paint it red, only to have the crafty culprit paint it plaid.  Now its up to Max and Pinky to figure out who in the world keeps undoing all their beautiful handiwork.

The Adventures of Max and Pinky: The Mystery, is a sweet book for kids ages 3 to 6.  Written and illustrated by Maxwell Eaton, III, the book has clever dialog and funny pictures that are sure to make a connection with children and parents alike.  The only problem I have with this book is the fact that little round-headed Max bears a striking resemblance to another little round-headed boy we all know and loveCharlie Brown!  This physical resemblance constantly distracted me as I flipped through the pages and tried to solve the mystery.

The Adventures of Max and Pinky: The Mystery, is the second in a developing line of mystery books about Max and his faithful pig, Pinky.  The first was called, Best Buds.

A fun and colorful read for pre-schoolers.
