A must-read for everyone. Anne Frank's Diary is an insightful portrait of a Jewish family in hiding during Hitler's anti-Semetic regime. Anyone from fifth grade on should read the diary for an understanding of this horrible time in our world's very recent history. Young readers will have no trouble understanding Anne's diction, and will come out with a better understanding of the Holocaust. Older readers will gain insight into this oppressed teenager's mind, will relate to her thinking, and will build perspective on the quality of life people have today. I read Anne's diary in fifth grade and was just old enough to understand it; now, at 18, I still remember many of the anecdotes. I just visited the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam last week, and explored the Secret Annex where the Frank family hid for three years. I recommend anyone who travels to Europe take a day trip to Amsterdam to see this piece of history.

I loved this book. It made me cry. Then I saw the movie and watched narratives about Auschwitsch and saw the terror they went through made me love the book even more and made Anne's diary better and even sadder.

I loved this book. I cried and felt so deeply for Anne. She is and was a remarkable girl. This book takes you into a life of an innocent girl that had no right to die. It's a great book to read along with Night by Elie Wiesel. This is because Anne's diary deals with life hiding and shows all of her sacrifice. Night however deals with what went on at the camps. A story Anne never got to tell. This diary is true and heartbreaking. I loved it! It's deffinatly for anyone 5th grade and up.

The diary of Anne Frank is one of wonder. The real diary of a real teenage girl during WWII. With a sense of reality, that being the book is reality, you go into the mind of a girl, her giggles and her private emotions. No other published diary will be as heartbreaking as the one of Anne Frank.
