Meet Arielle. She loves nothing more than to spend time with her dog, Britches, and her cat, Nosey, in a secret place they've nicknamed "The Hollow". One day, however, they stumble across a young girl sitting all alone behind a hollowed out tree trunk in The Hollow. She's crying pitifully - and not wearing any shoes. Arielle and her pets soon discover the girl's name is Francesca. When asked why she's not wearing any shoes, Francesca sadly informs the trio that it is because she doesn't have any shoes. From that day forward, Arielle, Nosey, and Britches vow to find shoes for Francesca. When they finally do, Francesca promises to repay her friend's kindness by taking them on a magical journey to the place where magic began.
