This book is basically a spoof of certain fairy tales: Chicken Licken, The Princess and the Pea becomes The Princess and the Bowling Ball; The Ugly Duckling becomes The Really Ugly Duckling, Little Red Riding Hood becomes Little Red Running Shorts, etc. These new stories are a bit odd and off the wall but that is what makes them so funny. It says good for ages 4 and up, but my 5 year old didn't grasp the humor, just thought they were real fairy tales. My 7 year old was offended by these takes on the classics, but in a funny way. I enjoyed all of the stories, it's a good way to find a little humor in a small book.
