The Talent Show is the eleventh book in the Confetti Kids early chapter book series. This story can be read independently without being confusing within the larger series. Henry’s friends assume he will pick the drums for the school talent show because they know how good he is at them. However, Henry wants to showcase that he can do more than just play the drums. With encouragement from his family, he shows off his dancing. The story is told in three chapters so it is easy for beginning readers to stop if needed before the end. The high-gloss pages make for bright illustrations. The text is in a larger font and just a few sentences per page making it ideal for newly independent readers. The story remains upbeat and subtly showcases friends and family from different backgrounds making it a naturally inclusive story.
