The Treasure of the Dinosaurs follows Little Captain Jack and his crew as they are on the search for the legendary dinosaur treasure. Once they are on Dinosaur Island, things are not as easy as they thought, as Jack gets taken by a pterodactyl and then is in a brachiosaurus’ stomach. Things get even more complicated when a Tyrannosaurus Rex stumbles upon the crew and doesn’t seem very happy to see them.

What I Liked: This book opens with a map of Dinosaur Island, which is full of vibrant colors and several interesting lands that are to be explored. Upon starting the story, you get introduced to Little Captain Jack, his crew, and the many dinosaurs that appear in this story. Throughout this story, you get to meet many dinosaurs and learn about their various eating habits and which ones Little Captain Jack and his crew should be on the lookout for.

The illustrations are vibrant and fun, not quite realistic of dinosaurs, but that makes this story one that children will love and be able to easily follow. The creative way in which Little Captain Jack can work with the Tyrannosaurus Rex and help him solve the problem that was causing his anger. Through this assistance, Little Captain Jack and his crew can acquire what they came for and create a beautiful partnership with the dinosaurs, in which they now have access to dental care.

Final Verdict: The Treasure of the Dinosaurs highlights people’s ability to help others regardless of their size and the importance of coming to another’s aid when asked for help. Children ages 3 and up will enjoy following Little Captain Jack on this adventure to find the dinosaur treasure and laugh along as they all find out how to escape the dinosaur's fury.
