If you are a poetry-lover, you will simply love, The Tree That Time Built: A Celebration of Nature, Science and Imagination, with poems selected by Mary Ann Hoberman and Linda Winston.

This light-weight, beautifully-bound book is chocked-full of wonderful poems that have been selected with the same awe and wonder that a baby--or even an explorer--might feel upon first experiencing their surroundings.

The book includes famous poets like Langston Hughes and Ralph Waldo Emerson, and the more obscure poets whose names you wouldn't recognize. It features a diverse range of poetry styles, like Obituary For a Clam, by Lisa Westberg Peters, and the ever-delightful, The Walking Stick, by Douglas Florian. Some of the poems are even translated several times, to showcase the interpretation of various poets.

The Tree That Time Built, is a wonderful addition to your elementary or middle-grade classroom, or your personal poetry library. Don't miss out on this one.
